Are you an accountant or a salesperson?

Many times in life, we allow our focus to paralyze our perceptions.

Many times in life, we allow our focus to paralyze our perceptions.

What do you do for a living? Have you ever thought that what you do for your job can change your perception towards certain things? If I were to ask an accountant how a company was doing, they would be able to talk about the finances, profit and loss, and the specifics of their ledger. If I were to ask a sales person how the company was doing, it would be based upon the sales and customer interactions that he knows about. Sometimes, an accountant and a salesperson can have a completely different viewpoint on how a company is performing, due to their different roles, and each is just as valuable.  But, sometimes it’s easy to get so focused on your specific job at hand, that you forget about the bigger picture.

Many times in life, we allow our focus to paralyze our perception. Sometimes we focus on the details so much that we forgot that each piece of the puzzle, when put together, completes a beautiful picture. When you’re trying to figure out your path in life, don’t let your focus paralyze your perception. Too often we are our own worst enemy.  When you walk towards your passions, hold your head high enough to see your dreams, but low enough to notice the progress building below. In life, our steps and our perception can hinder or help our dreams, it’s your choice what to focus on.
